The focus is to stay abreast of STEM related legislative issues and to communicate with legislators, state superintendent, business leaders, and chamber of commerce the position of TRSA.

• HB 1537 – which is an attempt to rewrite science standards in Oklahoma. We have worked with science educators, state superintendent, and business leaders in the state to clarify the position that we support the new Oklahoma Academic Science a Standards and we do not support the standards being rewritten.
• As the math standards are developed a representative from the legislative IR will be involved in the transition to the new standards.
• As STEM becomes more of a focus find ways for legislators to support TRSA.
