December 4-10, 2023
Each December, we mark Computer Science Education Week, or CSEdWeek, aligning with Grace Hopper’s birthday on December 9, 1906. Hopper, known for inventing the first compiler and coining the term “bug” when she removed a moth from her computer, inspired this annual event.
CSEdWeek serves as a yearly call to action, aiming to ignite K-12 students’ passion for computer science, advocate for equity in computer science education, and honor the contributions of students, teachers, and partners in the field.
Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance is here to assist you and your students in celebrating with resources and upcoming opportunities.

[x_content_band inner_container=”true” border=”all”]
CSEdWeek was founded as a call to action to raise awareness about the need to elevate computer science education at all levels and to underscore the critical role of computing in all careers.
The CSEdWeek theme this year highlights the progress that has occurred in computer science education over the last decade. There have been many great advancements in making CS education more equitable and accessible for all learners.
This year, we aim to celebrate our progress while keeping our eye on the advancements we still need to make so that every student has an equal opportunity to learn computer science.
