The SENSEsational Science Summer Institute Application is Open!

SENSEsational Science is one of our longest running and most popular professional development experiences. This year, SENSE is expanding beyond Tulsa’s city limits! Apply from anywhere in Oklahoma.

TRSA has long joked that SENSE is like summer camp for teachers, but this year we’re making that a reality! SENSE 2024 will be held at POSTOAK Lodge in Tulsa and include an overnight stay (July 1st-2nd). This is completely FREE, including lodging and food. In addition, participants will receive a $500 stipend for full completion of the program.

The 2024 theme is “Reflections,” in which we will be focusing on sight-based science experiences. Content will be focused on OAS-S standards for 2nd-6th grade that involve light, vision, observation, physical appearance, etc.

Who:

Any 2nd-6th grade teacher in Oklahoma, including pre-service teachers and district leaders or curriculum specialists. Public, private, and homeschool teachers can all apply! Priority acceptance will be given to teachers from Title 1 schools and those who serve underrepresented populations.

When:

July 1st, 9:00am to July 2nd, 4:00 pm (15 hours of PD)

Cost:

Completely FREE! Overnight stay at the lodge, food, and beverages are all included. Participants will receive a $500 stipend upon full participation of summer and follow-up sessions, as well as materials to implement STEM activities in their classroom.
