We invite you to join the MOMENTUM movement, a groundbreaking initiative by the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance (TRSA) and The Opportunity Project (The Opp). What is MOMENTUM?

MOMENTUM is more than just a program; it’s a transformative movement aimed at making a lasting impact on STEM education. It recognizes that valuable STEM skills are acquired not only in traditional classrooms but also in a variety of settings. Our initiative aims to bridge the gap between experiential knowledge and formal recognition by educational institutions and employers. We’re here to ensure that all students, especially those from marginalized backgrounds, receive the recognition they deserve for their hands-on STEM experiences.

Your Role as a Cohort Partner

As a cohort partner, you will play a crucial role in developing the second phase of digital badges and promoting STEM learning. Your commitment includes:

• Attend Meetings: Collaborate with us in meetings to discuss the creation of digital badges. Your input and expertise will be invaluable in shaping the badges.
• Assist in Creating Digital Badges: Work with us to create the first digital badges based on your current programming. We’ll leverage your existing initiatives to recognize student achievements.
• Outline Badge Requirements: Help outline students’ requirements to earn these badges. Your insights will guide us in ensuring that the badges accurately represent student accomplishments.
• Participate in Training: Attend any related training, estimated to be no more than two sessions between January and December 2024. These sessions will equip you with the tools and knowledge needed to implement the badge system effectively.
