The Oklahoma State Department of Education announced it’s dedicating $6 million to help fund classroom projects through DonorsChoose beginning Fri., Feb. 4, 2022. Read the full announcement here. 

Once the application opens on Feb. 4, use the campaign code OKLAHOMA on the DonorsChoose site (projects submitted before Feb. 4 will not be eligible).

We want to help make sure you have the support you need to easily create your project application. Join us on Facebook Live to talk about project ideas. We’ll have TRSA staff there to brainstorm with you about your ideas and strategies for improving your applications. Secondary teachers, join us Tues., Feb. 1, 2022, from noon to 12:30pm. Here are the Highlights from the Announcement

  • Project budgets can go up to $800.
  • Costs cover materials for student use only (no PD).
  • Each teacher can propose their own project (but only once per person).
  • You’ve got to be a classroom teacher at an eligible public school. Check eligibility here.
  • Applications require an essay with clear goals linking requested resources to student learning in the wake of COVID-19.

Tips for a Winning Application

  • Funding is first-come, first-served, so create an account on DonorsChoose before Feb. 4th
    • Look for announcements from OSDE on the 4th
    • Join our Facebook Live events 
  • Consider projects that support distance learning goals
  • Make sure you select an approved vendor and that items are in stock
