Ready to make science come alive?
SENSEsational Science is one of Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance’s longest-running and most popular professional development experiences. This year-long, immersive PD empowers educators to strengthen their science instruction through hands-on learning, standards-aligned content, and research-backed pedagogy.
SENSE follows a five-year learning cycle, with each year exploring science through one of the five senses. 2026 marks the third year of the cycle, highlighting the sense of taste. Educators may join the cycle at any point and still complete all five years.

Savor the Science
During the two-day Summer Institute, educators will engage in hands-on lessons connected to the sense of taste, exploring topics aligned to the OAS-S standards for grades 1–6, including:
- Feeding behaviors and food webs
- Structure and function of body systems
- Chemical and physical changes in food
- Systems thinking and evidence-based reasoning
Throughout the year, participants will deepen their practice through scientific argumentation based on evidence, supported by fall and spring follow-up sessions and a collaborative professional learning community (PLC).
