Space Week: Model Rocketry 101 Professional Development

Ready to take your students’ STEM experience to new heights? This hands-on professional development workshop introduces K-12 and informal educators to the excitement of model rocketry and practical ways to bring it into the classroom.
Over six hours, participants will:
- Build two simple Estes model rockets with step-by-step guidance
- Launch your rockets at the OSU Unmanned Airfield
- Complete hands-on rocketry activities you can adapt for your students
- Explore the world of high-powered rocketry
- Take home a set of rockets to use in your classroom
Who should attend
K-12 educators and informal educators, with a focus on those working with students in grades 4-12. Priority will be given to educators who have not previously attended this workshop.
Cost
Free! Substitute reimbursement is available when needed and will be paid directly to the participating school or district, not to individuals.
