Guest Night at the Observatory

Join the Astronomy Club of Tulsa for an evening under the stars at the ACT Observatory!

Weather permitting, guests will have the opportunity to explore the night sky through a variety of telescopes, including the telescope inside the observatory dome. Club members will be available to share views of stars, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and other celestial wonders.

September is a great time for observing summer skies, with opportunities to spot the Milky Way, deep-sky objects, and Saturn later in the evening.

The observing grounds open at 7:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive before 8:00 p.m. and should use extra caution when arriving after dark.

Before You Go

• This event is open to the public.

• Please RSVP in advance to help the club prepare for guests.

• Check the Astronomy Club of Tulsa’s website, social media, or email for possible weather cancellations.

• Bring a snack and non-alcoholic beverage if desired.

• Please keep children with your group.

• No pets, smoking, or tobacco use.

• Follow star party etiquette and ask telescope owners before looking through privately owned equipment.

A suggested donation of $5 per adult and $2 for children ages 6 and older helps support the observatory and future public viewing opportunities. Children under 6 attend free.

Location and Directions

The ACT Observatory is located southwest of Tulsa in an area with darker rural skies. Please use the official directions provided by the Astronomy Club of Tulsa rather than relying solely on automated map searches.

Parking is available in the paved lot near the large building adjacent to the observing field.
