TRSA and the unCommission

TRSA is proud to be a partner of The unCommission whose goal is to uplift the stories of communities who have been traditionally excluded from STEM. TRSA is hosting a Storyteller Virtual Roundtable at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 23 to gather 15 stories from our community using a focus group setting. Based on the unCommission research to understand who is underserved in STEM, we have made the following communities the focus of storytelling:

  • Black, Latinx, Native American students
  • Other communities excluded from STEM, including White and Asian youth in high-poverty and rural schools
  • Students with disabilities
  • Students who identify as LGBTQ+
  • Female students

All participants must be 13-29 years of age. All conversations will be recorded to upload to the secure UnCommission Storyteller platform.
