PLTW App Creators is a 9-week unit of study that introduces students to the field of computer science and the concepts of computational thinking through the creation of mobile apps.

Participants will receive a stipend upon completion of all deliverables.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will remain open until capacity is met.


Who

Open to 6th-8th grade teachers. Originally open only to schools who subscribe to PLTW’s Gateway program, it is now open to any middle school teacher who wishes to learn more about computer science and app development. Where

This PD will be virtual!

Equipment Requirements

Teachers will need to bring a laptop or Mac capable of connecting to the internet via WiFi. Some programs may need to be downloaded in advance. Teacher will also need access to an Android Tablet (NOT Kindle Fire) in order to participate. A limited number of tablets will be available to borrow from TRSA.

Cost

Thanks to generous funding from the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, the cost of this PD is FREE!
