PLTW App Creators is a 9-week unit of study that introduces students to the field of computer science and the concepts of computational thinking through the creation of mobile apps.

Participants will receive a stipend, and lunch will be provided each day.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will remain open until capacity is met.


Open to 6th-8th grade teachers from schools that already subscribe to PLTW’s Gateway program. Priority will be given to teachers from schools in the Tulsa metro area. If your school does not participate in Gateway, you can still participate in computer science PD this summer. Learn more here:


July 20-24, 2020 from approximately 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day.

Some pre-work before the PD is required but can be completed at home in your own time.

Equipment Requirements

Teachers will need to bring a laptop or Mac capable of connecting to the internet via WiFi. Some programs may need to be downloaded in advance.


Thanks to generous funding from the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, the cost of this PD is FREE!
